after market head unit

- hey, my bose hu started to go bad on me

so i was thinking of replacing the hu with a pioneer or jvc

so i have a few questions:

- is there some sort of frame or slot i can order? because the bose hu is shaped differently unlike most stock hu's

- will the new hu work with the bose speakers?

thanks

If you are planning on keeping your bose speakers and then later hooking up a system to that after market headunit, you will have to get an adapter called Scoche from crutchfield.com...they go for 50 bucks but people on here sell them sometimes...I got mine brand new from someone on here for 19 bucks shipped. You have to get it because the Bose speakers all have their own amplifers built in so it makes the wiring a ***** if you dont have the adaptor. Im not sure about what face you are buying but I bought an Alpine and I called crutchfield and they told me that it will be able to mount to the stock pieces...but since the Bose is a double-din unit, you should be a pocket for underneath the headunit. It will cost you around $20.

audio section will have all the answers you need. If you want to fit a unit where the bose was then you'll want a Double Din Unit.

yes there is an adapter you can purcahse (its like $40)that will plug into the back of the Bose unit and you'll have RCA inputs, many have it and it works find there running subs off of it, or ps2s'. Let me see if I can find the link or someone else post it in here.
