I asked this in the RoadRacing section, but thought I'd ask here as well...
Does ANYONE have any info the Maxima that used to be used as a pace car for the Champ Car Series, or any other maximas that used to be raced on road courses?
I remember (that old guy thing again) watching SCCA Showroom Stock at Mid-Ohio on Speed (when it was Speedvision) and there were two 4th Gens running. They were pretty much out of their league as they were the biggest cars out there compared to ACR Neons and Civics. They had qualified midpack however, but rain fell during the race. One Maxima had a BIG off and pretty much crumpled the left rear quarter. So they HAVE been raced before.
I figure if first Gen Ford Taurus SHO's can be "noteworthy" cars, why not a Maxima?
