installed my Tokico HPs and Tokico Springs today.

well, I got my tokico suspension kit last week from performance peddler, (thanks doodfood for the mention of the discount there. I got the kit for $369.)

I bought the camber bolt kit from the tire rack.

I bought new mounting hardware from Courtesy Nissan (4 new boots, new front strut mounts and strut bearings). The tokico HP rears came with new bushings so I didn't worry about those. (people don't forget about Courtesy Nissan)

Everything is installed and lined up. What's the drop? Well, tokico claimed 1.25". It was more like 1.7" in the front and 1.3" in the rear. This sound about right?

Difference? Well, I wish I had done this 3 years ago. The max looks MUCH better. The ride? For the most part, it's just a hair harsher than stock but boy does it make a difference in handling. The car feels much more planted and even braking feels better. I haven't even re-installed my FSTB yet.

Just wanted to let people know about the tokico suspension option from performance peddler and to know it is $369 SHIPPED (this includes Tokico HPs and SPRINGS). I think this setup is like $399 on Ebay + shipping.

It has been well worth the cost. Well, my struts were shot anyway so I had to put new ones on no matter what.

The H & Rs are about the same overall as the Tokicos. I would buy the camber kit just in case. I installed mine without even checking the specs.

Heck, I would strongly recommend buying all new mounting hardware.

probably not but is it worth $25 saved to find out you do?

I have found that in life if 99% of the people don't need it then I will.

I think I'm going with this setup as well. Chances are I wouldn't use adjustable option on the iluminas. How much is this camber kit your talking about, and what else do I need i.e; new bolts, and mounts? How much in adition to the shock/spring kit? Thanks for the info.

Just do a search on TireRack. There are two different types.

I posted 2 pics. You have to realize that the pics have shadows on the tires. I should have used a flash on it. The front and back both look lower than the pic shows but I think the car looks pretty level overall.

I measured the height from the center of the wheel to the top of the gap before and after.

Before was 17" front
after was 15.3" front

Before was 16" rear
after was 14.7- 14.6 rear.

Hey Guys, i want to do the same setup with the tokico hp's and springs, but im starting to think i should go with the illuminas, any suggestions?

Im a little confused, if tokico claims a 1.25 inch drop, how did you get it to come lower? I wanna know because i want the same drop you have, i think 1.25 inch is too small of a drop. Anyone else have any experience with this stuff?

When I called performance peddler, they gave a range of 1.25-1.5". When I called Tokico, they said 1.25 but they seemed vague. These springs probably also fit other cars and that's that average drop.

Why would you start thinking about going to something else? Yeah, if you have the $ then go for whatever you want but this is a kit and it does have a warranty. The drop is fine with me and honestly, I wouldn't want it any lower.

Maybe the difference in drop is manual vs. auto trans weight?? Or maybe they (Tokico) err on the side of conservative estimates so they won't have pissed off customers calling back *****ing about how their cars didn't drop as much as advertised.

Looks like a nice even drop, nice job.

When Tokico tells you how much their drop is, they're making a general statement about all their kits, i.e. they generally aim for around that drop, give or take, but each car will be different. The Maxima just happens to be on one extreme end of the spectrum (perhaps a little farther off the deep end than Tokico intended).

That's the official line.
