Well, I unhooked the vehicle speed sensor on my car. Since I was getting this math before:

2100rpm / 60 mph = 35
3500rpm / 100mph = 35

I got up to 4800 rpm in 4th gear...that equals 137 mph.

Fun...

How do you know that your tach is accurate? With all kidding aside without an aftermarket tach or a shift light there isn't a way to tell if the tach is accurate. But in any case I hope you did that high speed run on an empty highway, with little to no traffic. I can only take my SE-R to 105 before I chicken out .

i wussed out at 126. fast enough

and yes it was stupid, dangerous and irresponsible. I dont do it anymore. By the way, what happens if you go 131 mph on H rated tires (130mph)? do they become unguaranteed to stay togehter at that speed or do you just not go that fast because they will explode?

speed rating

the tires speed rating means that it is "rated" at that speed for 1 hour (whatever speed corresponds to your rating).

I made the run out on an empty road about midnight. I might have been able to get a little more but I didnt have room. I was surprised how quickly it ran up that speed and then dropped off. I thought it would take longer to creep up to top speed.

Alright, I'm not Mr. Safe Driver here - My driving record actually sux, however, I can't help but notice that digital speedo pic came from the direction of a person in the drivers seat. Please tell me you're not looking down and taking pictures at 150 mph + ....

lol, not that crazy. the coo thing about the digital speedo, is that it has memory. it stores the highest speed and i can go back and recall it later and take a pic. i had a friend try to take a pic of the actual gauge cluster when i was doing 153, but the picture came out real bad - he was shaking all over the place.

In the GXE w/o C&C, about 115. For everyone else, about 137 for the autos and about 142 for the manuals. If you hit the limiter(~115) it feels like the engine is surging, if you have hit the drag limited top speed, the car just won't accelerate anymore.

I would guess so, I didn't even pay attention to my tach... I was concentrating on not flipping. I just glanced down at the speedo for bragging rights.
