Squeaky clutch
Squeaky clutch
When I depress my clutch pedal, it makes this squeaking sound and it feels very firm. I never noticed the firmness before because I guess Ive gotten used to the clutch but that squeaking sound is driving me nuts. I dont know if my clutch is going out on me. My clutch doesnt seem to be gripping as much as it used to but its not like its slipped on me.
CAn anybody help me?

I changed my clutch close to 2 months ago. I have a hard clutch pedal (relative to other OEM clutch people) and that noise too. But I have it coming from two places.
#1- try to unbolt the slave cylinder from the tranny, then clean the hell out of the tip and the socket on the fork (what the slave pushes on) and coat them with hi-temp grease. I used anti-seize, it did in fact get quieter but its starting to go back to its regular volume.
#2- This is coming form inside, I believe its the spring on the clutch pedal assembly that needs to be regreased. but I'm too lazy to get down there.
Try that and see if it helps any ;-)

I have the same squeaking with my OEM clutch with 118K miles on it. It's still in good condition but about 5K miles ago I noticed squeaking from the clutch, and I just now got a chance to do work on it. I got down and regreased the spring on the clutch pedal assembly. It didn't help, but I'm not sure if I put enough grease. It was a pain to get my hands to the spring.
95BLKMAX: If I unbolt the slave cylinder from he transmision, will any fluid spill or anything to clean up?
