Installing Budget Y ... The quickest question

I got the stock pipe down .... after forever. I am about to raise up the Budget pipe. Budget sent the diamond gasket and 2 silver rings zip-tied to the end of the Y-Pipe. The problem is that I do not know where the 2 silver rings go. Any help will be GREATLY appreciated. I need my car by tomorrow.

i'm pretty sure the two silver rings fit into the little groves where the two curves of the ypipe connect to the headers. there should be a circular gap where the rings fit and will create a better seal.

UGHH!! ... I figured that out like 2 secs after I posted, but then it gets worse. The Y-Pipe won't go flush with the cat. I can bolt the Y-Pipe to the cat with a good seal, but once I throw the hanger up there, there is no way in hell it will go in. I can't get the damn holes in the hanger to slide on because the y-pipe end seems to be a little bent. Any other advise? Thanks for the quick response.

just need to slam it together, get the bolts on and tight n it down. It will all come together then.

yeah, after you just put the bolts together, you just need to tighten it down and it'll fit right. it's probably off right now because the flex section is hanging down.

I just did this myself yesterday... don't give up, it will go on! I had to just barely start the nut on the drivers side, then from the passenger side push the y-pipe/cat over towards the drivers side (hard) while simultaneously threading the passenger side nut. I finally got it, and yeah, it was worth the trouble...

I just got it on ... finally. It is going to take some time to get used to the new exhaust sound. I am feeling like a Honda Civic is passing by when I stand behind my car while it is on. Inside the car, I don't hear a new thing. I did take it out for a test drive, but it is raining so I was peeling out like mad. I have to admit that it feels like I am peeling out easier so that is all good.

is yours really that loud? at idle, i can't hear a thing, and at cruise, it sounds stock. but at WOT, I LOVE IT! it seems that the exhaust only has some decent tone to it while it is under load.

OMG. I am quite disappointed in it. I am pretty sure I have exhaust leaks now because if I step out of my car and stick my hand under the car it is very hot down there. Also there is a DEFINATE change in exhaust sound, especially when the car is cold, but then again that is probably due to exhaust leaks. Does it matter which direction the diamond gasket is facing? There was a slight lip in the middle and I faced it towards the CAT I believe.
