Get a clothes hangers straighten it. Get a butter knife go to ur drivers side door, use ur fingers to pull on the top of the door trying to create a bit of space between the door and the frame. Use the knife to gently push the molding to the door and then insert the clothes hanger in the cleared area between the door and frame. Sit there for an hour or so playing with the hanger until you can get to the lock switch.
Just note, not sure about the Max but my wife locked her keys in her Civic hatchback once, called "pop-a-lock" to jimmy the door open. Afterwards the door would not automatically open and the key would not work on that door, had to reach in from the other side to open it.
a good lock smith will be able to get in without messing anything up.....or u could call the nissan dealer with ur VIN and they can make u a key but seeing uhave a 99 that would be more expensive than a lock smith

But how many people know there VIN Number off the top of there head...
Is the car running?
AAA sucks dont ask them to open your door, mom called em to open my maximas door after she locked the key inside the stupid f**k from AAA bent one of the bars inside i had to take the door apart figure out what its suppsed to look like then unbend it streight.
I locked my keys in my car a little while ago and opened it by getting a long metal rod (an old CB antenna actually), sticking it through the top right corner of the driver side door (helped to pull it out a bit) and pushed the electric door lock opener. Sure it left a hole in the weatherstripping, but it's better than paying mucho $$ to get someone else to do it.
I carry my extra key in my wallet now.

hymm.....why don't you have an extra key???? they're like freaking $5 bucks to make. i mean, some cars have the chip in it, but you can still make an extra key just to open the door in case you lock yourself out. i think you learned your lesson n i hope you went to the store and got another key n that everyone does have an extra key somewhere.

FYI I think I posted my locksmith story on the rental car 2 wks ago--took him 7 secs to open the car. Anything but a locksmith and it's random, not methodical in the way that the door is gonna get opened.
Just have to check your registration. If you're not looking to spend any unnecessary money, then breaking the window probably isn't the way to go. Probably locksmith is way to go here unless you have some money to waste w/ the dealership.
My old chevy lumina came with a sleeved credit card type thing that had a partial key that ONLY opened the door, it saved me on a couple occasions. It fit in my wallet like a credit card and didn't take up too much room. I don't know if Chevy still does it, but I thought it was a sweet idea. Maybe it would be a good idea to have a spare key made at the local hardware store. It wouldn't start the car but it would open the doors maybe, then stick the key in your wallet.
funny story here, when i was 18 or something, my parents went to hawaii for 2 weeks but took the keys for their cars. my pos 87 dodge caravan was shifting like crap. dad's land rover discovery was behind my mom's maxima in the driveway so i went to the land rover dealership and gave them my id and told them info about my dad and they cut me a key for $13. never got a key cut for the maxima though, i just drove the rove for a week and a half. i was pretty surprised how easy it was to get the key though..

Your local cops can do it for free. Don't call 911 but call 411 and ask for local police station phone number. They'll dispatch a unit to you right away and if it's like our town, like 5 cops cars will come because they have nothing better to do in a small town with 30 police cars! Treat them to dunken donuts after and they'll be very very happy.
WTF! And you wonder why there is a crime problem in the US. I've never heard of the police giving a helping hand to anyone who locked their keys in the car. The author of this thread lives in a suburb of Vancouver, BC, a city of 2 million people. The RCMP would laugh at him and tell him to take a hike.

in my area that happened to me and i came across a cop and asked him. "Well I am sorry sir but we don't do that type of service since we have gotten complains due to scratches and broken weatherstrips from the very same people, good luck, bye" .... :jawdrop: i had to pay $35 for a 2 blocks nearby auto-facility service. They sent a guy by foot and he used his tools and no damage done whatsoever.
