Same here...my brother got it in 98 (it was a 97)...abused it...I don't think he's ever changed any fluids other than oil for the 6 years he had it lol. I got it for 500 bucks from him. I've already spent around 3 on it. I'm currently in the process of bringing EVERYTHING back up to speed.

 

Got mine sorta new...bought my 99 SE black/black 5-speed in June '99 with 6,000 Miles on it...it was a dealer demo car. Only paid $20K for it...used prices for a new car! Ah those were the days....now I gotta find another one after I sold my Lex GS3.

Mine too man. Mine too. And the rattles have gotten to a point that I don't even care anymore as long as the car seems to be driving fine. I've wrecked it twice, though. I have about 140k on it now. Only real problems have been emissions crap. Bought it in Dec 2000 with 39,578 miles. It was manufactured in May 1997 so I guess that would have made it 3.5 years old then. I think the sticker was 16,890 and it came to 17,450 or something with everything. Last payment is due Jan 5, 2006. Watch it fall apart Jan 6th!

 

Got mine in April 99 Year End sale, list $22,250, paid $18,250 - Black GXE 5 Speed, no options.

Salesman had me drive to the lot in a loaded 99 SE 5 Speed and when I saw the GXE sans wheelcovers and cloth seats covered in shipping plastic, I think he thought he "had" me. But this was a barebones car that I wanted to customize, so I took it and have done more to it than any other car I've owned. Still going strong with 80K miles, hope it lasts another 7 years, LOL.

 

I bought mine used October 2004. When I was 16 and first got my license I picked out a 98 GLE which my parents bought used for a 3rd vehicle so I could get to school.

Back in 95 my Dad was going to lease a brand new black on black SE and I remember how we were ablsolutely blown away by the test drive and how much power the car had. Unfortunately it was a business lease and the dealership wouldn't make a deal with his company so we got an Intrepid instead I think we would still have had that Maxima to this day...

 

Bought mine used in 99 with 52K on it. Second owner...the car was a lease return. Running good with 170K on the dial.

Bought my 1995 SE in May of 1995 for $22,500 (before tax).

Now has 140k miles and aside from occasional starting issues, performs great. A pleasure to have as my daily beater.

 

If your not Modding it or anything why do you hold on to it? I think you may be the memeber who Most loves his Max just to keep it stock to drive occasionally!

I got my 95 used about a year ago with 82k on it... its at 90K now. Looks great runs almost great (CV's going in next week)!!!

 

97' strong to 06'+ I predict myself driving this car until 2010 or so.

 

I loved the fact that I got a bare bones maxima too.

 

Gotta love the Maxie.

 

Got my SE new in July 97. "Maxine" now has 174,000 miles on her and she still makes me smile. She is stock and I am very pleased with the car overall.

Auto, spoiler, sunroof, leather Bose, all the options i think.
