Tranny Update

hey guys,
finally got the tranny out of the car to take a look at it (refer to previous posts about differential bearing). well, matt blehm did most of the work(btw, great guy)...but good news, my diff bearings are all fukked up! but everything else is fine, parts are en route and i should be back on the road by monday after a month without my car. if i remember my camera i'll take pics of it next time i am at his house. it only took a little over an hour to pull the tranny in his driveway and that includes labeling everything, really not as hard as i thought at all.
phil

I wish someone could do a "DECENT" write up on this....with tons of pictures (the more pics the less you have to type)... I HAVE PLENTY OF WEBSPACE to host it in 2 DOMAINS.

i was thinking the EXACT same thing before i tore mine open. im gonna try and find my camera and take a bunch of pics of us replacing bearings and re-installing tranny (teardown is opposite and is really easy if you have two ppl). and for those of you who looked at the motorvate.ca writeup on this, we managed just fine without removing the front/rear engine mount, stock y-pipe. the only things that are a pain is removing the shift linkage, its REALLY tight and also its kinda tedious removing all the sensors and plugs, and there is one hidden tranny bolt on the firewall side, but other than that it is a straight foreword teardown, as for tranny internals, i have never done that before so i will let you know how it turns out.
