Tranny question.

Guys is there a plug or some sort of seloniod for the tranny? The rpms keep jumping around and I checked the coils there all fine and the sparkplugs are fine also. Any thing else. Should i go somewhere and get the fuel injectors cleaned? Thanks

Are you M/T or A/T? If you are M/T, you might have an A/T ecu? I ran with one for awhile after the 5spd conversion and while it works fine, everytime you go between N & a gear it jumps rpms.

How did you come up with the trany in the first place?
Always check the obvious things first. I am no nissan master but lets stick with the simple issues first. RPMs jumping around sounds to me like a idle air control valve issue or a vacumn hose leak.

Good call. Have you cleaned your IACV recently? I read the whole thread once but can't remember.

Did you do any conversions at all or it just happened all of a sudden???

It make sure none of the cables coming from the tranny are secured and
not loose or split.

You need to give us a lot more information here. When do you see RPM fluctuations? When you are in drive? What about when you are in neutral or park? Does it do this while you're moving or at a stop? What range is it "jumping"? I.e, 500-1200RPM range, etc. Does it do this only when the engine and tranny are hot? cold? at all temperatures? Do you have trouble starting? Have you pulled any diagnostic codes from the ECU? How many miles are on the car?

From the little information you've provided, it's hard to tell what's going on. It may not be a tranny problem at all. Get us some more details and we'll be better able to help you out.

Good luck!

Check your TPS sensor, It has alot to do with the transmission functions. It might be not aligned right. There is a sticky on here how to test it.
