I won't sit and say I can definately take one, but I'd be willing to try, and I'd be confident I can win.

Even if it had intake, headers, exhaust I'd feel that way. And I know in 5th I'll get the R.

Type-R is the BEST, hands down the BEST handling FWD car in the USA, maybe the world.

Hey BrianV, even better than the CL-Type S (damn, both are Acura). I have driven the CL-Type S but not the Type-R (and of course read articles on the CL-Type S against a Beemer).

Auto - Not a chance in hell unless you're S/C'd, got NOS, or Don in Texas.

5spd - Jeff K ran a 14.3 with just a Y-pipe, CAI, and muffler (I think, wasnt much more mods than that if any) so I think a well-driven stock 5-spd can hang with a Type-R. Type-Rs are high 14-second cars (MT tested at 14.8) with a good driver.

Okay I'll be as real as I can here. About 2 weeks ago on LIE my friend {91 Integra LS, heavily modified but NA) and me (check my sig) were running at about 85-95. We saw an Integra Type-R (ITR) and slowed to see if he wanted to run. Well he played dumb at first and then decided to squeeze. Well my friend squeezed and so did I. We both left the ITR! So I didn't even count that, I figured he didn't want to run. So about 2-3 exits further down here he comes making a run to try and sneak up on us. I backed off and left the race between my friend(91 Teg) and him. Well my friend left him so I kicked it to get in on some of the fun. And I started to gain, not like I was gonna blow by him but I started to close the gap. I think the Max has great passing power. Like on the highway you can just lose a gear or two (depending on your current speed) and start to pull on some really good cars.

Some background my friends Teg has, high performance cams&cam gears, valves, valves springs,CAI,headers,cat-back, ignition, fuel pressure riser and I think I'm still leaving something out. And I'm 5 speed. And earlier in the night I ran my friends Teg. From around 65 to 110. Oh and all night no missed shifts. Although I still want SMC shifter. All in all I love ITR's but they dont posses the passing power of the Max. ITR's are great handling cars and with the right parts are very powerful but I'd still be willing to run against one. That much confidence in the MAX!!!

ITR

i know a guy, an acquaintance, not a friend (he's an idiot) with an ITR. he ran a 14.6 with a REMOVED INTAKE, i saw it myself. by that i mean, he has an AEM short ram, but he totally removed it from the car.... no filter or anything. just to give an idea of how dumb this guy is, he is 18, his daddy owns a radio station and bought the car for him. he has crashed the car 3 times, 2 times major crashes. he had to buy a brand new engine, because after a few weeks of driving around with no air filter, he managed to ruin his engine, ingested some sand i assume. and he has tried to jump the car off a ramp he made out of plywood and steel bars because he "thought it would be cool".

did i mention he's an idiot?
