Pirelli, BF Goodrich, Michelin, Yokohama, or Dunlop?

I'm looking for a good performance tire, but it has to have decent bad-weather handling. I'm from IN. Here are the ones that I'm considering. Pirelli P4000, Dunlop D60A2 JLB, BF Goodrich Comp T/A HR4, Michelin Pilot XGT, or Yokohama Avid. Any of those better or worse than the others? Any especially good or bad? Thanks.

You didn't say what size wheels you are going to mount these tires on.....

If you have 15 inch wheels, check out the Firestone SH30 .....don't knock Firestones...they are actually the same company as Bridestone. SH30s are simply a bargain HR tires (I use them and love them).
Also, the Yokohama AVS db are worth checking out. VR rated, very affordable, and as the name suggests, damn quiet (I have these on my wife's CR-V...they too, are quite awesome)
If you are running 16 or 17 inch wheels, check out the Kumho Ecsta. Very affordable (for now), directional, cool looking, and flat out handles great. Fairly quiet, too.

Hope this gives you more tires to consider/get confused about.

I have 173,000 miles on my Maxima, and I'm on my 3rd set of Michelin Pilot XGT-Z4s. I've gotten 55,000-60,000+ miles on each of the first two sets, and the third set is on pace to match that. They offer great dry/wet traction, and they are quiet. They complement my suspension upgrades very well, helping my Max corner like a slot car. The Z rating gives me peace of mind from highway speed on up to 145+ mph...

I have nothing but good to say about these tires. Good luck.

P7000SS/P4000 (V rated) is you need all seasons

Both are excellent tires, depending on the size you need. Get the V-rated version of the P4000 super touring if you get that tire. The P7000 super touring only comes w-rated,AFAIR, so you're all set there.

I've got/had both on a couple of cars. P7000 is excellent in dry, rain, or snow. P4000 is a great tire for the money.

I have chosen to buy the 215/60/15 Dunlop HR tires...I like them and they seem to be good to go. I'll put them to the test and let everyone know my thoughts.

Pirelli P6000's running on mine now and I absolutely hate them. They squeal like crazy, have absolutely no grip, and they SQUEAL LIKE CRAZY, gets way too much attention.

Go with Kumho, save some money, get a good performance tire, KUMHO, support Korea!!! (I'm white)

The Dunlop D60A2 JLB, BF Goodrich Comp T/A HR4 and Michelin Pilot XGT are all near the top of the list for the best compromise between dry and wet performance (for a performace/touring tire - not ultra-high performace) as rated by Consumer Reports. The the Dunlops are the least expensive of the three and will probably be my choice in a few months.

I am running Pirelli P6000 Sport Veloce on stock 15" wheels and they are great even in bad weather.

With a 98 GXE Max with stock 15"GLE mags 205/65/15:
Yokohama AVS dB, very very silent, incredible in wet and very good in dry, dont screem in curves at all and again very very quiet tires.
Better than my old Avid H4 or the P4000 and even the Pilots
that I previously owned on other cars.

Maybe a little more expensive, but worth it.
But I should of put 225/60/15 on... next set.
I kept the 15" because here in Montreal the road condition is bad, and my car is droped with Eibach coils, needed the extra rubber between me and the road...

I live in Chicago, and have Bridgestone Turanza Revo H rated tires. They are probably the best tires I have owned. They have the most amazing wet traction ever...and snow is good too. Plus they are quiet and give very good grip on dry pavement during hard cornering. Good luck

go with

the Kuhmo's superb handling in the dry and the wet and they are very quiet. Don't forget the best part they are like %25 cheaper than the closest competition and they are probably better than them.

I had Potenza RE930's on my 15's. Faboo tires. Great traction all around (rain, snow, dry). Very sticky when dry too, esp for an H rated tire. Only cost ~$80 installed... don't know if they have them in the 215/60R15 size anymore tho...
