Another suspension question

I'm getting ready to replace struts and figured I might as well do the springs as well. I'm trying to keep it cheap but use decent parts. Currently the max has about 188,000 miles on it and I will be keeping it at least a little longer but I don't want to spend too much on it. I found the Tokico HP with Tokico springs on ebay for $397.00. Does anyone have any comments on this setup?

Another option I was considering is KYB GR2's with Maxspeed springs for about the same price. If anyone is running either of these combos please give your opinions.

Thanks,

Rob

maxspeed springs gives similar amount of drop as tokico springs. as far as the shocks, GR2s are a little bit better than HPs. tokico HPs are simply OEM replacement, and GR2s are 15% stiffer than OEM shocks.

i have maxspeed with the combination of tokico HP front shocks, and kyb AGX rear shocks. the ride is very smooth and not too harsh for daily driving. it got rid of the 4X4 look on my 17"s.

I have KYB GR2s and Tein H-techs. Got them real cheap from one of the group deals. I bet a group deal is going on right now for the struts/shocks! Check it out.

If you want a little be stiffer ride (slightly better handling) I'd also recommend the GR2s over the HPs. The HPs are like stock GXE springs. The GR2s are closer to SE springs (slightly stiffer).

I like my Tein H-tech springs. Nice drop in terms of the cars stance, also they are relatively soft for lowering springs (unlike Eibachs which tend to be much harder). H&R are also supposed to give a nice drop without too harsh of a ride.

It all depends on what kind of ride quality you desire.
