Weird Starter problem

I have been having trouble with my starter for 2 years. It mainly only occurs when its warm outside. For some reason I can only get it to start if I jiggle the key real hard, and sometimes it won't even start. I have had to resort to using my remote starter. Anyone seen this problem on max? i know I can;t be the only one.

Bad ignition i bet, if remote start works no prob, starter must be fine. Does your key jiggle around alot? Its supposed to be snug.

You need to replace the ignition switch. It costs ~30 bucks from one of the wholesale parts dealers. It will take you 15 mins to replace it. I believe a how-to exists in the stickies - dig around - you'll find it. That will take care of your problem.

Its a 3 on a scale of 1 to 10. Look up the how to in the sticky - if you don't feel comfortable, any mechanic should be able to do it for you for a small fee. Or post in the regional forums - one of the local guys may be able to hook you up. You haven't included where you are from in your profile.

If you have a good screwdriver set you will be able to do it yourself. Its a very easy job that you cant screw up on, just takes 5min to learn it

Just buy from a local auto and do yourself
