I recently got 96 Max and was wondering how old its fuel filter and spark plugs were. Is there any way to find out by looking at them or something or should I just change them regardles to play it safe?
what fuel filter do you folks recommend to use on 96 Max or does it matter?
I heard that NGK cold sparks work best in Max is that true?
Tnanx,
...and what would I do without this forum !?

Chances are they are the original parts. As far as the plugs go, you should probably go with the NGK's. I went with Bosch +4's and noticed a very little drop in performance in lower RPM's and more power up top. My fuel filter replacement is a generic on from Autozone. Noticed a big performance difference when I installed the new one.
Mind you that the NGK plugs are $25 each. Get them from Courtesy Nissan for around $10. They sell the all 6 in a package for around $50. Oh yeah, good luck with getting the fuel filter out, it's crazy trying to get it out.

Accessing the fuel filter is more difficult on 4Gen cars with ABS. Some owners report a frustrating experience while others say "piece of cake".
