removing clear corners
removing clear corners
i tried to take off my clear corners last night so i could get my headlights out (to do the AE mod) but the friggen things wouldn't come out. is there any trick to getting these out other than removing the one screw and pulling? i gave up because i thought i was forcing it and was about to break something...
Look behind them underneath the wheelwell liner. They may have been bolted in from behind to keep them from being stolen. Did you install them or get them with the car? If you didn't install them they may be secured from behind as I said. I plan to throw a nut behind mine when I can to keep them tight and from being ripped off. I hope my reply helps/makes sense.
i just recently took it off to replace bulb. theres one screw on top and then you have to pull the light off. if you look closely you can see the screw at the bottom. you can try to use a long straight screw driver to help pull the screw out of the hole. i just pulled really hard.
Ahhh, confusion again...bumper lenses vs clearance lights. I thing gsmith is referring to his clearance lights beside the headlights and not his clear bumper lenses, commonly referred to as clear corners.
brownes got you covered. A little finesse is required, but take it easy, they'll come out eventually. They come out easier after the first time...but not much.

I had the same problem when I did the AE Mod...just be patient and try to pry them out as much as you can then pull. Just be careful, especially if your wire harness is still attached to them. When I went to paint them later on, it was much easier to pull them out. What's making them stick is the metal piece inside the far edge of each light.
There is a very tight joint keeping the light in after the (obvious) screw is removed. You WILL be able to pull it out. I would just gradually increase the amount of pulling force each time.
