mild street Maxima Torque Converter

ive heard this should give more horsepower thoughout the power range and give me that kick i need for first gear without sacrificing gas mileage. my 0-60 should increase a whole lot.

anyone tried one of these - if so let mw know what you think of it. ive been told it only engages at wot (wide open throtle).

I'm not understanding the more HP part. Does this TQ convertor have more bite? If so, is the stall point lower? Typically, higher stall TQ convertors are less efficient at putting down WTQ since there is more 'slip'

A torque converter doesn't give you any power whatsoever.... so no, no one has a power-giving torque converter on their maxima. Or any car for that matter. In truth a higher stall torque converter will rob horsepower... the flipside is that it will allow you to launch the car harder. If you aren't into dragracing hardcore, which I suspect is the case, you need to drop this idea.
