Clear Corner Install Question

I just finally picked up my set of clear corners, and the instructions on the .Org seem fairly straightforward. However, the part about securing them confuses me a bit, and I don't feel like tearing stuff apart to do it. I was told by BlueC to use some kind of silicone to keep the side pieces from falling out, but have no idea how I'm to apply it or what kind of silicone I'm to buy. Can anyone help me out here? I just need to know what to buy and how to use it. I don't want my side pieces falling out

Use double sided tape. Works just as good.

How secure do you want it?

If it's a little loose, you can just wrap a little electrical tape around the **** that plugs into the hole. That will keep it firmly in place and still let you pull it out fairly easily.

If theft is a concern, I've heard some people removing the **** and replacing it with a screw so you can use a wing nut to secure it from behind by goin under the bumper.

Hmmm...in what way? Where do I want to stick the tape at?

I just want it secure enough that it won't fall out every time I go through a pothole and need put back in. Theft isn't really a concern where I live. Thanks though!

My main concern is that it's going to fall out and I'm going to lose it entirely and have to buy a whole new set. That's all I'm really worried about...

Do they fall out that easy that it should be a concern? I just popped mine in a couple days ago. I live on a bumpy dirt road so then maybe I should secure mine better...I paid over $60 to ship em up here so I definitely don't want mine to fall off either!

Like $27 shipped off eBay. They're diamond cut, too. There's a particular seller I bought them from even though they were a couple more dollars because I was guaranteed it would have bulbs and new seals and all kinds of stuff like that.

Oh, and, I just put them on. I used the new "seals" (if you want to call them that) where the *** on the back of the sidemarker fits into that hole, and it seems to be staying in there pretty good.

Where'd you buy them from?

I got mine from Custom Maxima (Enterprise). The hardware included to mount the sidemarker (white plastic female nub to hold the male ****) secures loosely. I haven't had any problems of it popping off but it doesn't take much to pop them off with something flat. Just re-use the factory female plastic nub it'll secure those clear sidemarkers real tight.

Take a look at the post above, you just missed it

The plastic female **** is what I was referring to as the "seal." New ones came with the lights, and they actually seem to hold the light tighter than the factory ones did.

I just unscrewed the **** on the actual clear lense a little and then pushed it in to the female connector. This has worked for the last couple of years, has not fallen out once.

Can't expect perfection from cheap aftermarket lights.

There are usually gaps around the edges of the light housing where the clear lens meets the housing that holds the bulbs.

You can get some clear silicone caulk from a local hardware store and fill them in. Keeps water from getting in.

Note I was afraid the sidemarker pieces were going to fall out, I was not afraid to install them I installed them last night as a previous post says, and it did only take me 5 minutes.

Oh, and JPMax, they fit in there pretty tightly now. I actually didn't even need to use tape or anything.
