Squeeky and Stinky A/C

i just started using my A/C again becuase i moved to Florida. When i turn the A/C on it makes a squeeking noise. The sound is whatever speed the A/C is on. Sometimes it goes away and sometimes it doesnt. Now yesterday i when i turened it on it smelt like mildow and pee. I really need my A/C but i dont want to smell pee while its on. I remember there being a thread about this but i couldnt find it. Can anyone help?

1. the squeak (if its fan speed dependent) is most likely the blower motor - you might be able to pull it and clean it out (debris), or you can just replace it.
2. get a can of lysol, turn on the air and spray the can into the cowl vents (on the outside of your car near the wiper arms)... I wouldn't do the whole can all at once.. but maybe do a few treatments over a few days.
3. get under the car and look on the firewall towards the passenger side (midway up the firewall). you should see a rubber hose coming out of the firewall and just hanging open - this is where water leaves the A/C system. Run the A/C for 10 mins (on a nice humid day) and make sure you see water dripping out of this hose. If there is no water, get a coat hanger and clean that hose out. Compressed air also works well.

Cheers.

although mines doesnt smell, it makes a high pitched whistling noise.. hopefully its just debris from the blower motor.

A not as effective by easy way to also remove that smell is to kill the mildew and dry out the place they are growing in by turning on the heat and turn the compressor OFF so only the fan is working no A/C.

It works on a couple cars but my A/C been dead for years so I haven't tried this personally.
