Engine Swaps

Has anyone swaped a 4th gen with any other engine (other than vq35)? and when you do, do you have to put in a matching tranny for that engine?

Just curious

so the only other engine a 4th gen could handle is a vq35?

Vq30DE-k has been swapped.... WHat other engine would you want to put in there?

And also, the transmissions don;t have to maych, well this is a little vague .. You can put a 5 speed from a 4th or 5th gen and mate it to a VQ35 ... Now one has really gone the automatic route.

Dubbya has the 3.5 with an auto. It was installed by Stephenmax.

The Manual is the way to go, looks like with an auto setup a lot of power is being lost.

And it will also cuasi it to slip quite a bit, and Dubbya/s a/f tune is poopy, and he deosn't have headers, and still puts down more or about the same compared to any other 3.0 VQ automatic ever did.

With some fine tuning and headers, he could go palces fast ...

The headers are the power adder for the 3.5
Have they determined a way to make them fit the 4th gen?
I thought they had clearence issues with the crossmember?

Nope ... The cattman headers are actually made for the 4th gen. JClaw has them on there.
Looking at Dubbyas dyno, he's actually making a good bit of power after 5.5k compared to typical 3.5L FWDs. What's your VI set-up Dubbya?
