Can anyone give me any useful info on upgraded trannys?

I am having problems with my tranny so I was thinking that if it isn't too expensive I would upgrade the parts to fix it. So if you have any useful links or info that would be great. thanks

well im assuming you are auto... so i would say look into the vavle body mod. This is where your vavle body is altered to make the shifts quicker and harder feeling(but better for the trans). Also you can get your trans bulletproofed and cryo-treated. i think MaximumTuning is the name of the comp that does alot of this for our car. There are others as well. look through the forum youl see posts bout valve body mod and such.

according to his profile he's a 5speed. You can rebuild it yourself (how to in stickies), but it is rather involved. If you have it professionally rebuilt, make sure they properly shim it, and not just shim it back to factory spec, which is wrong.

You can upgrade to 2000/2001 tranny if you'd like, supposedly the shimming problem was fixed in it.

The parts would probably run you 250-300 this might help a tad bit

If the factory spec is incorrect than how can I know what to shim it to?
