Tranny snorkel leaking fluid?

That little black hose that comes from my transmission and doesn't connect to anything is leaking some kind of fluid, not sure what though, it's clear, not very thick and has no odor. And any and all dust in my engine bay sticks to it and turns into a thick greasy black mess. Does anyone have any idea what or why this is happening? I've never seen this happen before. Thanks.

Simply a vent hole. Most likely it is just condensation/water. There is nothing inside that would leak clear fluid.

http://forums.maxima.org/showpost.ph...5&postcount=13 <--- That hose

I know it's a vent hole, but all underneath of this vent tube is a greasy mess, all over parts of my intake, starter, anything below it, so whatever it is has to be coming from that tube. And I know it's not tranny oil, it's far too thin, but it's too greasy to be water.
