All I have to say is after installing Budget SS, I have Bees and a grind sounds emits after 4K. I really do not want to spend a day with someone reving my car to 4K to figure it out ... it kills me everytime I do it just to hear the sound to see if it ever goes away and it doesn't.

We went through this nonsense with madnut the other day. Who did the installation - you or someone who had a clue about what they were doing? Describe your exhaust system. Are there any aftermarket exhaust components, eg. muffler.

I bought a Cattman. Had it installed a little over a month ago. No Bees in a can sound, just an ever so slight grrrrrr under acceleration, stock exhaust. I went with Cattman because I didn't want any problems that have been mostly associated with other brands from what I have read.

The bees in the can noise comes from the flex section. What does BITC have to do with installation? Exhaust leaks come from a poor installation or when there are fitment issues and things don't meet face to face. An exhaust leak sounds very different than BITC.

But, anyway, describe your exhaust setup like murdoch said, maybe we can help.

I get the high-pitched buzz from my Stillen. It comes from under the middle of the car, so right near the flex section. It has to be associated with that.

Regarding bees-in-a-can, I'm surprised nobody's linked this yet:

http://forums.maxima.org/showthread.php?t=310324

Apparently wrapping and the Dave B mod should do it for the noise.

While your ypipe makes noise at WOT, mine is silent and cost less then your ypipe.
$30 for Ypipe w/ busted flex. $30 for flex, $20 to weld in.

Foreign exchange rates flucutate daily. If you're paying by credit card, expect to pay a slight premium. The US$ is around 81.0 cents Canadian right now. So expect to pay a minimum of US $202.50 (250*0.81) as the Canadian $ has strengthened somewhat lately. To be safe, I would expect to pay more like US$205 for it. It would have been cheaper for you 2 or 2 weeks ago. You can thank your illustrious president for your weaker $. Less than two years ago the same purchase would have been more like US$160 given the strong US dollar at the time.

Get under your car and look ... Buy a Haynes manual ... Buy a Chilton manual ... Search some more. Use WD-40 to spray old bolts.

I installed the Warpspeed over the weekend. I have no bees in the can, but I had a pretty good rattle over slow bumps (jiggling the b-pipe). I removed a section of the heat sheild and so far so good. I was very pleased with the quality I received for only $160. There were no fitment issues and the only sound difference is alittle growl (think VE30) under 2K rpms. The gains are well worth it.

Just thought I would share my experience with Warpspeed.

I've got a Custom Enterprise Y-Pipe and Hi flow Cat and I don't want to mess anything up by installing it myself. Even if I did, I don't have access to a car lift or car stands for that matter. The labor at one shop was going to be $260. That sounds ridiculous. Especially when Midas will slap both in for $130.

For those who had a shop put in their pipes and/or hi flow cats how much did you part with?

I am bone stock right now. My first mod will be the Y-pipe. Did you feel noticable gains from your new addition?

Did you have more ricey exhaust note or a more deeper toned exhaust note. See I am looking for a b-pipe and muffler as well but...I hate the rice sounds. And it's always a gamble when you buy an exhaust.

Word is that those might require you to grind down a little piece of one of your motor mounts to fit properly. There isn't a lot of faith in this company's work in general... some people have had good luck, others have complained about extremely poor quality and bad design.

Either way, on 4th gens, headers are proven not to give any more power than a y-pipe unless the car is turbocharged or supercharged. If you're gonna drop >$300, you might as well get a Cattman y-pipe and be absolutely sure of the best fitment and sound. If you're gonna go cheap, grab a Budget or Warpspeed y-pipe and call it a day.

Being a Cali-spec Maxima, will it be worth getting a y-pipe since it probably won't perform like a Fed Spec Maxima?

I had a C.E. y pipe, it needed to have an inch and a half welded in to fit and sounded kinda buzzy, or was that the cheap a** magnaflow.
(start rant)
I don't get it, what is the big deal we are talking about y-pipes again. It's called conversation right? Can you honestly say you have never had the same conversation with your friends more then once in your life. New light is shed on the subject every time it is brought up and all the dumbass noobs like me get to learn somthing. If you don't want to read about y-pipes (or any other subject) because you know everything don't click on the thread
(end rant)

Just go with the budget! They all do they same thing and will all have issues. Everyone may have some type of issue with them so there is no reason for spend an extra $200 for the cattmans or such when the budget will do the same for much less! Just because it costs more doesnt mean its a better product. Its usually just the brand name you're paying for. At least this is what I've read in the other 50 y-pipe threads I've read. I'm going with budget this summer.
