Buying new Y-pipe... Wich one's best??

Okay so its time for me to put some more goodies on the Max, and I already
know a must have mod on a 4th gen Max is a Y-pipe. Now Im tryin to figure
wich one to go with, In my head Im thinking Cattman but then theres Budget,
Stillen, and Warpspeed.. I've heard of rust and fitment problems from the Stillen
and rattle from the Flex pipe on the Warpspeed but now Im just gonna do what
I normally do in a situation like this and ask my fellow 4th Gen tuners who've
expeiranced with these to help me make a decision... Please Help.. Thanks.

You will be greeted with open arms as there hasn't been a y-pipe thread in this forum for months.

I bought a stainless steel Budget y-pipe a year ago and am extremely pleased with it - no fitment problems, no bees in the can sound.

Seriously, why don't you scroll through and read the various y-pipe threads contained in the last few pages before someone comes through your computer and shakes you!

More like 12-15 whp ... I've had a Stillen and a WSP, and the stillen fit best, but had the bees in can noise, whereas the WSP sounds much better but bangs on the crossmember every now and again ...

its ~20 whp added, if you ad net horsepower, whp is added the same, not less, a certain part is taken out because of drivetrain, but that is a constant, not the more hp you have the more the drivetrain takes away
look at motorvate's dyno graph-- http://www.motorvate.ca/mvp.php/504

Ok Mr. know it all : Thats one dyno out of many ... I'd say realistic and typical gains in the 12-15. Since his was done on 2 very differtn days, and the correction factors were a little skewed when tryng to relate them ... This has been discussed in detail on these forums, regarding his dyno with the dozens of others.. When you get a y-pipe, do a baseline and after, and I'll pay you $50 if you gain 20whp ..

Damn these y-pipe threads pop up every week. If you have the money. Go with Cattman... You dont have the money, but you want a long lasting y-pipe.. Get Budget SS Y-pipe... You dont give two ****s about your car, you wont keep it for long anyway.. Get Warpspeed..

You don't need a straight pipe. The incremental horsepower is negligible and you're harming the environment by operating with no cat.

I have a Cattman too! No fitment issues, no bees in the can noise, great craftsmanship. I recommend it!

i have no problems with the cattman. And to answer a previous question, I don't feel a thing. My car doesn't feel faster at all. It's in the instruments you notice it. I'm averaging about 5-10mph faster than usual on the same roads i usually drive. Gotta relearn the power band of the car.

And for the cost of the Cattman, you could buy the Budget stainless steel y-pipe and a good portion of the Budget resonated b-pipe, while you're at it.

No I have not tried them all, that doesnt mean I know people that use or installed them.
Budget - Filament problems
Warpspeed - Bees in can noise
Cattman - Rusts
Stillen - Bees in can
SS Autochrome - Filament and bees in can
Topspeed - Flex makes noise
Custommaxima - ????

Does this mean if you buy from them you will get the problem, NO. All I am saying is that none of the ypipe are perfect and these threads need to stop.

This thread should be locked. People are getting too emotional on this subject.
We've already got stickies and other sources for people to search out on y-pipes.
