help with tail lights and hazard light...im an idiot!

ok guys..you are gonan laugh..but this is for the record books...ok got new altezzas...not CF or Chrome...but the balck ones for the 95/96...they look clean..so installed them..and decided to buy new bulbs to celebrate the occasion...being an idiot that i am...i bought 1156 bulbs and put them in every housing...WOW DID I DO SOMETHING WRONG!...i forgot the the fitment was 1157 for the bottom stop lights...great..so i kept blowing fuses...bought more..blew more...im up to 30 ampers now..justi incase..so i bought the bulbs this morning..for the bottom..and now those work...but still got fuked over..because somethign happened with my emergency lights.....the turn signals became solid..both in the back and the front bumper...and when i turn on the headlights...they arent solid anymore..and are functional...so i checked the Hazard Light fuse..pulled it out..and still my hazard dont work properly (obviously because there is no fuse..but)...i tried changing the fuse...but same result...i get solid turn signals on both front and back when my headlights are turned off...AS IF THE EMERGENCY HAZARD LIGHTS JUST FROZE....ANY help will be appreciated... thanks in advance

I THINK 1156 are single filamen and 1157 are double filamen, you need a double filamen for your tails.....

I'm not sure, but you might need the proper bulb to complete the circuit correctly..

how about putting in the correct bulbs? also, replacing the fuses with bigger ones like you did you run the risk of frying your wires... common sense..

ok..between 1156 and 1157....the little stubs are placed differently...i replaced...and my brake lights work...i fixed the fuse issue..now when i have a fuse in my hazard light fuse section...in the interior fuse box....my hazard lights (the turn signals) are solid...they dont turn off..or blink...then when i still have the fuse in the hazard fuse section and turn on my headlights...the turn signal and hazard ligth start working...NOW...when i take out the fuse..everything works except the bottom parts for the outter tails, the hazard light button, and my two blinks when i activate my alarm...i have no clue what the hell happened.

I think you're gonna need someone local to check out your situation. Maybe ask for some help in the regional forum?

I've read your post several times and I'm still a bit confused. LOL.

for the bottom ones (the ones that lights up when you turn on ur headlight + brake) are 1157, which is double fitments.

the top ones (turning signals + reverse lights) are 1156, single fitments.

the corner lights are simply 194.

u should be running stock amp fuse doesn't matter what hyperwhite bulbs you are running. use proper fuse before you burn your harness.

OMG....you upped the fuse to 30amps??? You are crazy!!! Having the correct fuse amperage is important, they need to blow when a certain threshold of current is exceeded or when a short occurs. If they don't blow, it'll either burn out its circuit or cause a fire.

You need to pull out that 30amp fuse immediately and drive your car to a local electrical shop. And just for humor's sake, had you not gotten those hideous Altezza's, you wouldn't have this problem.

ok the altezzas are fine...the problem is my hazard light is ****ed....when i plug in the hazard fuse...the lights are solid (looks like i have my hazard light on..and it got stuck)...even when i turn off my car

when i take out the hazard light fuse...everything goes back to normal EXCEPT my hazard lights dont work and my (2 time blink) for the alarm arming doesnt work.

yeah man why would u want altezzas... they are and red/clear stock tails are superior to any altezza. But as far as your problem, idk wtf u did but it seems to keep getting more complicated the more you try to fix it. Just take it to someone who knows what they are doing

It sounds more like you may have fried something in one of the control modules. But that's just a guess at this point.

I'm willing to bet that the flasher relay is toast.

basically MAKE sure your wires are connected correctly, IE u plugged in the right connections...the blinker goes to the blinker...that should fix your problem...another thing is that u need to have the right bulbs, jus use your old bulbs.

Just to restate what everyone else has about the larger fuse rating...
My friend has this Mazda 626 V6, and tried to install a cd player in his car, without a wiring harness that was specific to his car. He went on online diagrams to figure out which goes with what, and somehow his parking lights in his taillights were blown. After tracing wires, etc, they figured out that the parking light fuse was blowing, replaced it, blew again, and so they put a bigger fuse in. Long story short, he had to buy a brand new wiring harness, and have it installed. Total cost: $1000, and he still doesn't have a cd player.

Replace the hazard relay to get that outta the question. I have to assume that that got fried and the relay got stuck in the on position, thats why everytime you plug the fuse back in, your blinkers stay on. Go up to Autozone and get a Heavy Duty rated electronic flasher for $10. Just make sure you take out the original to view the prong placement so you get the right one. Good luck.

Looking at the turn signal/hazard schematic in my Chilton's manual, there is a combination flasher unit in the circuit. That should be the culprit. However, it doesn't show its location in any of the fuse/relay boxes. There is an accessory relay in the fuse box inside the car, driverside kick panel. But I'm not sure if that is the one. At this point, I really recommend you go to an electrical shop. Attempting to resolve it on your own could be disasterious.
