You might be posting on a multi-page thread and viewing the first page. Your new posts should appear on the last page of the thread. Multi-page threads have page #'s on the top.

Lately there has also been a problem with disappearing posts. I think that problem is alleviated with making sure you put something in the "Post subject" line.
