Intake question...

Im posting for my younger brother here everyone, he bought a cheap $50 intake off of ebay, WE have it all assembled, MAF is all hooked up with the sensor and all, but were not able to get the second sensor installed cause well its built into the upper part of the stock air box. So now the car is throwing a CEL, but if you plug it in it goes away. With or without it the CEL on there is no difference from what we can tell in how the car runs, its on a 95 GLE that were working on, so what do you all recommend...Only other alternate choice would be to buy a more reputable intake obviously, but is there anyway I can help him salvage this job?

And remove that sensor from the top part of the air box and drop it in?

that sensor is the IAT (intake air temp) sensor, its a pretty useless sensor but can trip the CEL. when i had an ebay intake, i just left the IAT sensor dangling near the filter, and no problems. be sure to plug up the hole where the sensor should go, you dont want leaking air, especially with no filter

btw: if your going for performance, stay with the stock intake. if your going for sound, then an intake is a good buy.
