clutch slipping?

Here's the deal, I know my clutch is definitely slipping. Why? Not for the obvious reasons, which is why I'm posting. I had the clutch replaced last October by the dealership. When they did this, they also let me know that the input bearing shaft is messed up and the tranny would need to be replaced or rebuilt (its got the signature chattering when in neutral)- they actually let me know it would be easier to let get a used one. Within the last week, I noticed the clutch slipping at about 4-5000 rpm in third and fourth.
So right away I'm thinking they put in a key value clutch. So I'm thinking

a) key value clutch or
b) clutch is fine, get the tranny taken care of idiot! or
c) combo- clutch and the tranny

I should mention, I do drive a lot. I have 15k on the "new" clutch. I have a 2001 tranny going in Saturday which is why I'm considering changing the clutch since I'll have the tranny out anyway. Its just messing with my head that I cant figure out what the issue is. Also, I ran the part number on the receipt from the clutch and I'm getting no hits.

There you go. Lets have it!

When my tranny was bad I had a worn input shaft and it was leaking tranny fluid onto my new clutch, the new clutch was soaking up the oil causing slippage. This could be a possibility.

New tranny is going in, if you can afford it put a new clutch in and be care free for a good while, or if you have a local source to get the clutch from examine you currently clutch and see if it is badly worn and in need of replacement. I'd advice new clutch and tranny and be done.

leaking clutch fluid on the clutch..interesting. I hadn't thought of that. Thanks bro! I think I'll just go with what I was thinking anyway and get the clutch replaced.

My thoughts exactly, or your rear main seal is weaping and oil is getting onto the clutch plate. But being the dealer already told you about the input shaft, I'd bet your tranny is just starting to leak fluid onto the clutch.

Just pick up a 5th gen. clutch set up while installing the tranny. For the less than $200 in parts, and no additional labor, you'll love the clutch, and had they put a key value in, you're probably gonna replace it sooner than later anyways.
