Car is kinda jerky and kicks back

I noticed lately that when I am lighty touching the gas my car kinda jerks then when I let go of the gas it jerks back. It does it at different speeds. Like if I am going around 40 in 5th gear and I hit the gas lightly it has like a kick then if i let go it kicks back down. It sucks when the cruise control is on because it kicks more. Does anyone know what it could be? I thought maybe a motor mount or something but I don't have no idea. It is a 5 speed.

Have you watched the tachmeter to see what it does when the car jerks? If the RPM goes up and down and up again......might be the clutch slipping. When it finally catches you get a jerk.

I'm thinking motor mounts also, I have that same jerkiness, but have learned to live with it. I can rule out the clutch, since I have about 3k on a 5th gen. setup.

I have an automatic and it does the exact same thing that you mentioned. if i am driving about 30-40mph with the gas pedal lightly kept at one place then when you let go of the pedal completely it jerks back. might be the motor mounts but i have learned to live with it.

Sounds like something is sticky and need cleaning out. TB,injectors, its a start.

And Umass are youc cruising in 5th gear @ 40 or still accelerating, cause 5th gear is what maybe 1.5K rpms which isnt a good place to be for 5th when your trying to accelearate. It still should be sticky but kinda of a side thought.

in 5th going that slow mine is smooth, and boggs out
1st 2nd are jerky sometimes u just have to feather it and make sure to get up to the right speed before you let off the gas.
it seems like theres a bit of play in my throttle and maybe a dead spot just at the very edge of opening. its hard to explain but i know what these guys mean for the most part. it could be loose drive train parts because i think my MMs are okay.
i dont know how to check my suspension parts like control arms and tie rods shrug

you're right about not accelerating on 5th gear, of course, but if your driving 40mph on 5th gear the rpm would be around 1.5 so therefore when you let go of the gas it just jerks. I have an auto and this happens only when im cruising on low rpm and then i let go of the gas completely. It doesnt seem like its anything major but since we brought it up its good to know what it is.

I got the code p1400 which is the code for the egrc solonioed valve. Could that make the car do that?
