Best spoiler??? What about the little "lip spoilers"

Hey Guys,

My car has been spoiler-less for too long. In some ways I like the clean look of the trunk, but it often feels like something is "missing." I'm not looking to spend a lot. I'd prefer to have it pre-painted. This is what I've found so far:

$50 ("lip" spoiler):
http://www.vqpower.com/v2/modules.ph...rticle&sid=122

$150 shipped (painted!!! but does Ebay = crap?):
http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eB...MakeTrack=true

$218 shipped (painted!!!):
http://www.commandocaralarms.com/ite...?ProductID=184

ADVICE!? Do you think the lip-spoiler does the job? Should I avoid Ebay like the plague!? Other places to buy that are more reputable but still inexpensive?

The ebay spoiler looks like my best option based on price and looks, but can I trust it? Who has bought one of these and installed it?

Personally, I don't like the lip, but then again it is different from alot of other maxs. I don't know about the ebay spoiler, sorry.

Ive been looking at the ebay spoilers for a while too. All the companies claim to sell to dealerships and most claim to be an certified OEM replacement. Some sell theirs on ebay with templates to help you install it too. If my crappy manual trans wasn't slowly eating itself alive I would have already bought one. 4th gen maxes look better with the oem spoiler.

I think the oem is better than the lip spoiler. I'm interested to here feedback on those who have tried the ebay version.

So am I (hence the thread). Yeah, the lip spoiler is unique, but it does kind of look like a piece of rubber you glued to your car. I don't think the guy in that pic painted it. The only reason I even considered it was the cheap price and no-hassle installation. Painting would take 2 seconds. Then peel and stick. I'm not sure it adds anything though.

I dont know about the quality of the ebay spoiler but if you purchase one thats prepainted, it will not match your car. Its going to be 10 year old paint vs new paint.

nismostic got his OEM spoiler painted off ebay, and it looks awesome on his car.

in fact recently i just got mine off the same buyer from ebay, the overall finish is superb and i'm gonna install it soon.

Cool. When you say the "same seller", do you mean the same one in my link above?

If you could tell me the name of that seller it would give me way more confidence in buying! Thanks HappyRiceFob!

Oh yeah, did you get a * pre-painted * one? How was the match?

I'd get the lip spoiler. If I didn't have a spoiler to begin with, I'd rock the lip. It is very subtle, and pretty classy, and goes very well with the 95-96 rear style. 97+, I can't say the same thing.

I'd like to see a bigger, clearer pic of a maxima with the little lip spoiler. It's hard to tell if it just looks "glued on" (hence cheap) or if it actually compliments the shape of the car.

Does anyone on the .org have one of these things?

I think the lip spoiler looks cheap. Pay the extra cash and get the other one

When I look at those pictures [of the lip spoiler], and put my hand over the spoiler, then remove it - it seems like it doesn't make any positive difference in the looks. Hardly noticeable anyway. Plus, yes, it looks like rubber.

Hopefully HappyRiceFob will confirm which ebay seller she and nismotic bought from. I don't like taking chances on ebay if I don't have to.

I have the lip spoiler waiting to put on. It only looks like rubber (which it is) until you paint it. i don't have a digi camera to post pics, so sorry about that. But i like the lip because i wanted a spoiler and still wanted to use my bike rack. Painting only costed me $60, but i made a side deal with a painter at a body shop.

I agree with some of you, that it looks cheap and very plastic on the link provided above. But with paint, it looks much better.

As soon as i can get some pics scanned, i will post them.
