No search= stupid 1999 question...

What could/would a 1999 maxima 5 speed with intake, headers, cat-back expect to trap in the 1/4 mile? What seems to be the norm?

1/4 mile sticky

Manual
Typical Stock: low-15's
Best Stock: 14.7 (VeeTec, 2.1 60', a good 5-10 others have run high-14's stock also)
a mod or two: high-14's (many)

There is so much variance that it's really hard to say. If you want a rough estimate, just take the average stock time (not the "best" stock times listed) and take off 0.1 for intake, 0.3 for exhaust and headers, and more for whatever other mods you might have (ECU, UDP). Those arent' accurate numbers I'm giving, but you can't really expect that without doing 20 track runs and averaging the best five, and then accounting for altitude, temperature, etc.

Pull all the seats out of your car (except driver of course), pull the spare tire, pull everything out! And you will also drop about 0.1 - 0.15 secs per 100 pounds of weight loss. Again, this is a not an "accurate" estimate. Just extremely rough estimate.

Don't expect miracles with a few bolt-on mods. Stock runs low 15's. Well you will probably run high 14's with some mods.

Why worry? It will be faster than stock. Not ridiculously faster though. You need a turbo/SC or NOS for dramatic speed difference.

Enjoy your slightly faster maxima!

Like everyone said it depends on you and your cars condition. But if i had to bet id say (if you shift good) should be running 14's no problem... Do you have an aftermarket y-pipe? If so u should definatly see some mid, maybe low 14's

Im just really interested in the trap speed of an average maxima with those mods. I know how hard it can be to launch the car properly etc, however the trap speed is rather indicitive of the power being put down. I have seen some 97-98 mph traps with those mods, (at least I think I've ready about them), but I can't find them now.

Wouldnt the aftermarket headers include a Y pipe? They did in any of my cars that had them.

Oh this isnt my car, it's someone I ran into, just trying to get refreshed.

Do you think low 14s is likely? Mid 14s with some good driving and hopefully very well tuned car. But I'm no expert. I'm sure some people have run low 14's with similar mods. I just don't know if the average car can expect those numbers.
