Well first off i have a few questions about rare maximas? Are there any rear wheel drive or 2 door maximas that have been made by nissan. I heard that there has been a 2 door but nissan stopped almost right after production. Is this true.

Now for my main question!!! I have only seen 2 Cherry Red maximas and they both live by me. Did nissan produce cherry red maximas or are these most likely repainted. I really hate red but on a maxima it looks pretty nice. One guy is selling it. Ill try to take a few pics sometime of it and post it!

 

The red ones are either the Rosewood color or the 99 SE-Limiteds. Those are the only two red/burgundy type shades that were made at the factory.

No there are no rear wheel drive 4th Gens (that Nissan made).

 

I've never heard the rumor of a two-door Maxima..

 

1) No such thing as a RWD USDM Maxima
2) Maxima's are 4DSC
3) The Color is Crimson Blaze and is only available on 1999 Models.

the only rare maximas out there is the red SE limited edition Maximas, nothing else,

i dont know if you would consider the a31 cefiro a maxima but i believe those were rear wheel drive because they were turned into drift cars...

I have seen a rare Maxima... I knew this kid that had a white SE... 4th gen body style, but he said it is a 94. His interior was very strange... He had black leather, but the pattern of the leather 'squares' where not like a 4th gen at all... they looked like a 3rd gens leather pattern. He said the car belonged to his dad before him and every thing has was stock.

it was equipped with and rb20de or an rb20e or and rb20deT...they were known for being compatible with the rb26 engines....CAN U SAY MAXILINE???hehe..

hehee...i've actually seen a few of these in the philippines...they're pretty quick and the drifters down there seem to know what they're doing..

 

Oh I remember seeing pics of those old cefiros with the 2.0 liter version of the skyline motor. I just never knew they were the a31...

Rare Maximas? Hmm...I'd say Crimson Blaze ones are probably up there. I would also say the same for whatever color happyricefob has because not too many people seem to have ever seen it.

Most rare would be I30/Max with factory NAV. 99only. I have only seen 3 pics of it too.

 

That's true, too. I know vsamoylov has one in his family, I talked to him about it once.

 

I sorta have a rare Maxima...mine is an ES. Its a Canadian model that was made only in 99...basically just an SE with a few less features (no spoiler, sunroof, bose, etc.). It does have traction control, LSD, and heated cloth seats though. I don't really see many of them up here.



Somebody posted pics of Cefiros in New Zealand I think and there was a wagon version with the SE 5-Spokes...I thought that was kind of neat.

Why doesn't somebody take a 1st gen maxima and mod it up to some crazy amount of whp? it's rwd, so nobody's going to cry about fwd. I do realize that there is probably a lot of work, but hey...its what many people on this forum want, a rwd maxima.

Hey Northern Maxima, I have a 99 ES in Icelandic Pearl. I have only seen one other around here and there are a lot of Maximas.

I do see a few of those "RARE" black SE, with black leather and (limo)tinted windows. They usually have wierd looking wheels and sound funny too!

mine is a metallic blue, ive only seen four, and i see about 20 max's a day, only about 3 that are the same. so i geuss you could say its rare

 

 

I have a 95SE, 5-speed, Black Emerald, loaded with heated leather seats and mirrors, with 58,999 miles (80%+ highway) on it. Owned since day 1 and in near-mint condition. I'm sure NmexMAX will flame me for this one, lol!

My color code is BM1 (Deep Blue Pearl) it is stock paint and chnges colors in the sun. (purple, green, Blue). I have never seen another.

 

Deep Blue Pearl (BM1) sound nice, don't think I've seen that before. Black Emerald (DJ2) also changes color in the sun - looks black on a dull or rainy day and metallic dark green on a bright day.

 

I think any Crimson Blaze Red maxima with TCS is pretty rare.
