Sunroof Screams???

Sunroof Screams???

When I open my sun-roof it makes this horible screech when it is all the way open, untill i let the button go...

Is there a broken switch or something?

Any Ideas

The tracks probably need to be regrease.

Not while opening, only once all the way opened, it sounds like the moror is still pulling, and the window is at the end of the track...?

I will try WD-40, but i dont think its that...

you might have broken one of the brackets in which case you'd need a new assembly you could pick up at a junk yard for about $175 i hope thats not the case

this has been mentioned several times, the concensus I have seen is to let it be. Mine does it too. Others have said theres has done it for years. I have yet to see a fix posted. Some say it is a broken stop but it doesnt seem to hurt anything as long as you dont let it scream.

It's a known issue with our cars. I think everyone's roof "screams" after it's completely open, if you continue to hold down the button.

not mine, but i believe that since this only occurs when the button is held down after the rood is open, just deal with it. once it is open, why strain the motor? just time it just right so you will let go just as it opens completely.
