Anyone Use The 4 Or 5 Led 194 Bulbs In Gauges For Needles??

I Got Indiglo Gauges And Was Wondering What The Output Of A Red 4 Or 5 Led 194 Bulb Would Do To My Needles Being That They Would Be The Only Things To Get Lit Up By The Leds. Are They As Bright As They Make Them To Be??? I Want My Needles To Glow Bright A$$ Red, And No I Dont Wanna Spend 70 Bucks For A Needle Kit. I Saw The Sticky About Wiring And Shoving The Led Closer To The Needles, But I Was Wonderign If Anyone Experimented With These Bulbs????? Thanks

I used the 6 led bulbs from superbrightleds.com that are blue in my dash. I have the usual hot spots. The needles light up OK but they are far from bright. If any thing they are slightly dimmer than the dash. Similar to stock, just blue. I think the mod that you refered to is your best bet. I've seen that guys signature before and they really seem to light up well. Just my thoughts.

Sorry, no night pics.

i got mine from superbright leds as well. It only takes 5 led bulbs and they are the pushpin ones just like the ones in the door courtesy lights. For me they are as bright blue as my reverse indiglos and thats bright as H***. Just make sure you get the right ones, mine were single led bulbs with a concavity to displace the light smoothly.

Those are the ones I got.
The concaved dome lets them disperse the light better.

I am sorry for braking the topic here, just don't want to open another thread for one question: I have a '98 max and going to do a gauge LED mode, so can I use #194 bulbs or it has to be anything else(please specify if yes)? Thanks!!!
