brake problem

when i hit the brakes my pedal starts to vibrate as if the ABS were activated. it just started recently. my rotors seem warped so i bought new ones and pads. but this doesnt seem like a bad rotor and pad problem. i just wanted to know if there is a sensor that goes bad with the abs that activates the system when not needed. ive heard about problems with abs in the 3rd gen, but not here yet. thanks.

Its warped rotors... replace the pads and rotors (front most likely) and you'll be fine. Be sure to take your time to clean out the retaining clips and relube the caliper pins.

^^^^^what he said.... I recommend brembo blanks, they are good cheap rotors and you can get them in the gd section of the forum...I also highly recommend OEM pads from the dealer, $66 bucks, cant beat it....and there is no noise and there is almost no dust, trust me ive tried so many brake pad combinations...TRUST ME...oem pads are the way to go

Agreed. I'm sure your ABS is fine. Hopefully you will braking smoothly again once you get those new rotors on.

Agree with the OEM pads recommendation. I think you can do better than $66 at some of the wholesale parts places - try getting a quote from Midway Nissan - check the group deals forum for the thread... otherwise found at midwaypartsteam.com.

Yeah, I only used OEM pads for a long time. They work great. I recently took a chance on the Raybestos Quiet-Stop pads (there was a group deal last summer) and I have been very pleased with those as well. Low dust, good stopping power, very quiet for a full year now.

But you can never go wrong with the OEM pads.

do you feel it below 20mph. I don't think abs engauges until 20mph. The faster you go the more violent it gets? if so then I say rotors also

it only happens at low speeds mostly when i am coming to a stop. i ahve driven on bad rotors before, but ive never felt my pedal like this. i will put the new pads and rotors on on monday, we will see if that solves the problem.
