engine running RICH

engine running RICH

my engine is running ridiculously rich, i want to lean out the mixture a bit, is there anyway to do so?

yeah just change the jet of the carb.

safc, get working o2 sensors, put a real cat back on in place of that test pipe, check for proper spark, check compression.

I would also like to know how to actually confirm what mixture your engine is throwing....other than getting terrible gas mileage

because i can smell it, its more than what should be coming out, just cuz i dont have a cat hahaha.

well if you don't have a cat, like I said, that will naturally make your car smell like it is running really rich, even if it might not be. just get a cat, you'll get better power anyway, unless you are boosted.

ECU, SAFC ... Conirm it first though ... The exhaust typcally smells different when not using a cat. When I changed my ECU, the smell changed, and confirmed on a dyno, was running more lean.. Its always run that way, you just noticed because you left thec at out.

how cars have too many damm sensors to run anywhere near rich..........
