Smog woes

Man, I went to get my car smogged... bummed to find:

1) They said I have a KS code... (but my check engine light isnt on?)
2) They said I failed on the Computer
I didnt know the JWT ECU was going to fail me.

Man! Now I have to find a stock 96 manual California ECU within 2 weeks. Argh! Pickyourpart? Is there a website where I can get one for kind of cheap?

Any suggestions?

Just when I thought I was getting less noobish something like this happens.
Ghost codes? Like codes that you do not see until you reset the ECU?
If thats not it, how do I check for em?

Thanks btw, I got a ECU for $275 on the way.

I got an ECU for $75, oh well. Ghost code = read the stickys ...

Ghost code is a code stored in the ECU and doesn't trip the CEL, and it's typcially yhte KS code that does this.

Bottm line,

Check the ECU for codes even if the light is not on before emission testing for reassurance.
