there has been alot of debate about this. i think i lost some low end power. at least it seems that way. other peopel have mentioned it too and i'll probably get a new box to regain that power.

what i did was just take out the ram air scoop and no cutting was needed.
(its still all under the hood air isnt it?)

He didn't ask what you did, he asked what benefits, if any, it provided besides sound ... and the real answer is no.

oh, whoops, i forgot to mention, i was sorta replying to chillin014 and suggesting an option. Now that he cut it, he wants to buy another one to go back to stock or he can glue it? Or he could have taken out the ram air, if he was looking for sound and simply put it back on if it did not suit him. Sorry for the misunderstanding.

imho no benifits..

under hood air is VERY DIFFT from the stock setup. its taking air from the front, as you drive its way cooloer than if it was under the hood.

if anything go K&N, i d k bought them FRAM HOGS but it seems like penzoil cheapo paper is being over run by the orange

I did an "A-B-A" test (had hacked AB for a while, got used to it, taped peice back in, drove around a while, then took it back out and drove some more). My butt dyno swears there is more power from 4k and up with the hack job, and since that's the only dyno i take with me everywhere i go, i left it hacked. Even though i like the sound, i'd have gotten a new airbox if i thought it was better intact.

i agree, it feels like there is more power above 4k and less under 4k than i had before.

between a stock airbox and a hacked stock airbox i dont think theres much diffrance than just sound and a tiny bit more air i guess.
but between a popcharger and a stock intake i think the stock one was aloooot better. with the stillen popcharger on i was so sluggish in low high and mid rage. when i put the hacked box on i noticed a giant diffrerence and a huge improvement. low end was more, mid range was more, not sure about high end. i dont realy go above 3 or 4 k. but within normal driving range rpm it was alot less boggy and more responsive. i think im faster too.

ya it sounds good.

I like to think it does something, but it realy doesn't

but hey its better than spending 50$ on a intake that doesn't do anything either..lol

ya im planning on going back to stock, i got it sitting next to me. Anyone want to buy my weapon R for 100 bucks ^^
Also i thought it was fine to put a cone filter on the end of the stock mid pipe and dont lose anything. I think the stock box is very closed and doesnt get in alot air.
