So I didn't have a keyless entry for like two years now and I was wondering because now when I lock the doors the lights just flash. Is it me or isn't also supposed to honk also? Haven't had it for a while so I forgot.

its not supposed to make any noise..but you can wire a horn to it...dude i know some orger on here has a mini piezo that sounds with it..and it makes the car seem like a little european car.

I bought my 99gxe and it came with an aftermarket keyless. Mine is wired to the horn and unlock beeps the horn once, lock beeps twice. Its kinda loud so im trying to figure out how to disable it but no luck so far

Hey,
If I remember correctly you have to press the lock/unlock button at the same time, and you should see your parking lights flash - indicating you have turned off the horn.

In my 97 it doesn't beep or honk when I hold the lock button. It just flashes the emergency flashers twice.

i know it is a different car, but on my dads 98 mustang gt if you lock it it doesnt do anything but if you set the alarm then it will beep once.

I believe the 4th gen stock keyless system does not honk. The 5th gen cars honk but you can turn it off (as we did on my dad's '02). I haven't figured out how to turn it off on my mom's '96 Sable - it honks if the doors are already locked and you set the alarm, it's a Ford so it's the same as black 96's Stang. Personally I think the honk is obnoxious.
