i'm just curious because my car was a stripped down gxe when i bought it and i've added many factory options like a full i30 interior minus auto climate control, and i was just wondering if this was ever an option? not sure if it came stock to people with power trunk, because i added that myself too.

not a big deal, just one of those things because i've had it open a few random times without knowing, so i'd like to know...i'm just suprised it doesn't say a door is open or something...so i'm not sure if maybe mine isn't set up, or it was just never an option.

I have SE and I don't think there is a warning lamp just for the trunk. It might be tied into the door warning lamp. I know there is a sensor on the latch. I believe it's for the oem alarm though.

maybe i'll try to get one of the door open sensors and wire it in there because i'm funny like that and waste my time.

 

if poelep haev a alarm w/ a lcd screen it shows if they trunk is open or not

 

i have both 96 gxe and 97 se and they don't have that option.

 

as for the trunk, isnt there a sensor for the hood ? WHats that sensor going towards you (when you are facing the car from the front) from the battery? Its on that support bar on the front of the engine. Not that i wouldnt notice the hood open, but i just thought that it would show me a light on the dash.

last time i purposely left the hood open all the way, and closed all doors and started car, and nothing came on the dash, no lights, nothing.
Probably the led went out for the light, correct ?
