Couple Noob Mod Questions

So my dad fix the bodt of my car since he ****ed it up. I also saved up like $2000 from being a bus boy at my dads resturant so I am thinking of modding my car, first I want to know will the grill from 97-99 fit on my 96? Like just bolt on. Also I want to put the a Stillen body kit but I am not really feeling the one for the 95-96, so will the 97-99 one fit. What is the best way to drop the car and which is the best company to do it with? A nice exhaust would be nice also, which one doesn't sound like a ricer? Also I have the climate control with the **** where you spin it around, I want to know is it possible to get one on ebay and take mine out and put that one in, with no rewiring. Is there any bolt on headlights that are projector HIDs like on the 02-05 Maxima? I really like bolton, don't trust myself.

Sorry for being a

Ok I read through the faqs and found the answer to two questions. The grill and the climate control. But now I have a new one what's the best intake for it?

no offense or anything. But $2000 is not enough to do all of that. A nice body kit, good paint job, good suspesion, nice exhaust, y-pipe cost well over $3500. So you're gonna have to choose what you want. The body kit can cost up to $2500 alone. If you buy it new, one of the hardest problems with body kits is fitment issues. You basically need a shop that does good body work to it it onto your car. Most of the time when you lower it, you won't be able to put a body kit on it and vice versa. I don't really see a point of dropping the car 1 in n putting a body kit. might as well not drop the car at all. if you're planning to drop the car about 3 inches, i don't see why put on a body kit since you'll just be scraping the floor with it. either way. Just think about what you want the most. looks or power. you can choose looks first n then power. if you choose look, let the grille be last. do either the body kit with rims, or suspension with rims. if you want suspension and body kit which is HOT but kinda crazy if youre in nyc area. you need coilovers which allows you to adjust the height.

Injen is not a good CAI. it might be for othe cars, but not for the maxima. it is way overpriced and gives you no performance. If you want just the growl n be really cheap. Hack your airbox which means cut holes on the bottom part of your intake. if you want power, go with a y-pipe first. if you wanna go cheap on a body kit, buy one used that was already fitted and all you have to do is paint it. if you want to do cheap rims, buy them used. used stuff are ok, just gotta be careful buying stuff like this. i usually want it to be local so i can check out the performance of stuff before i pay for it

1. get a 97 front bumper - 100 on ebay add another 200 for paint including the lip paint
2. stillen lip ( only front lip) - 200
3. 97 grill - 50
4. 97 headlights new on ebay - 150
5. y pipe - 200
6. catback - 500 (thats for greddy or stillen or cattman)
7. intake ebay - 50
8. suspesnion S.tech springs- 160
9. KYB AGX - 360

grand total - 1970

So u might just cover all your bases and some. but not a full paint job. and these prices don't include install, but with the FAQ's on this site u can do alot of them on your own, and even suspension if u have the tools.

Half of the things you said have no basis to them. A body kit should at no time cost up to $2500. It is max $800 for a kit and MAX a G for the paint and that is for QN0 paint. Any place charging $2500 is ridiculous. Next I bet 80% of the people on the .org that have a body kit are lowered so you CAN lower and put on a body kit. Anyone can put a body kit on, all it says is to use the provided tape and some bolt it on for peace of mind..... So for $700 you buy a Stillen kit. $400 for paint and install. You have 9 left and you can do a cat-back and y pipe for about $500 if you can find it used. And if you search the FS forum you can sometimes find good deals on struts and springs used and a lot of them are local to you in NY.

I go with what one of the guys here said. The body kit itself should be no more than 1500 tops with them color matching it.

You could then spend another 500 on an illumina shock/spring combo to lower the body. That leaves you with about 500 bucks left you can spend on a catback. If you dont want to get that ricer sound, I'd recommend just going with a Ypipe, and if you want a B-pipe, keeping the stock muffler. With that, you get excellent gains and your car wouldnt sound much louder than stock.

So if I just do the y-pipe I would then just install a tip? I like how some of the Maxima's here look with the big tip tucked under the bumper. Also if I lower it with the stuff you said, will it lower it enough with the stock sawblades? Because I just bought them since I had the hubcaps.
