350Z / G35 Exhaust on 4th Generation Max

I think im going to do my exhaust next on my max. I was behind a 350Z the other day and the exhaust sounds really nice. Would it sound the same on ours? If not, what do you guys recomend. I am not looking for a big "Honda" sounding noise. I want something with little noise but looks and sounds half way decent. Thanks for the help guys, greatly appreciated!

I would think that using the resonator and muffler from a 350Z or G35 would accomplish this. I was considering the nismo muffler for the 350Z but I'm sure I'd lose a large portion of my spare tire well.

There is no way to make the max sound like the 350z. The breakdown, if you have or are planning on a y-pipe you will HAVE to keep the stock muffler to have it quiet. If a y-pipe is not involved, a WS or WS2 from apexi are your best choices, too bad they aren't made anymore so you're SOL. Putting the 350z exhaust on the max a waste as well since they have a muffler running parallel to the bumper, right? You'da have to crush the spare wheel well in for it too work, even then it's a waste.

honestly...good luck...not even 3.5 maximas sound like g35s...does this have something to do with the engine's position or is it cause they have dual exhausts??

It has to do with the Headers, ypipe, and muffler. Also I believe cams change the exhaust note. They do not have dual exhaust, but a muffler with 2 outs.

The exhaust note is a combination of the engine, resonator and muffler. All the resonator does is change the sound, just like the ones on our intakes. As for someone telling you they can't fit the parts, do they mean physically can't happen or they won't do it for you? I went to a midas and asked about a replacement exhaust from headers back and i was told he couldn't quote me without looking at it, which is BS because it's just the CATs, resonator, muffler and some length of pipe. So don't believe everything some guy at the shop tells you, because I went to another muffler place and they had no problem quoting me a price in any size exhaust i would want.

Actually I was quoted $150 for a Bpipe when a shop quoted me w/o looking at it.
I was quoted 75 at the shop that looked at it.

Another thing is finding a place that can do the mandrel bends on the exhaust so it's less restrictive, not sure how hard it is to find a shop that can do such a thing.

I just put my Apexi WS2 on. Sounds mean as $hit with headers, but kinda loud.

You guys can find them on ebay. That is where i found mine

The muffler is what he is talking about, not to get confused with the entire WS/WS2 catback.
