Painting calipers, where to put jack stands

Hi boys, need a quick reply here please. I have one side of my car jacked up and don't know where to put the jack stands safely to hold the car up while I paint the calipers. Pics wpould be great before I continue.

I usually try for the exact same place, I jack it up all the way, then drop it and move the jack as fast as I can, then shove the jack stand in.
Its hard to type with only one hand...

you could also just put it right on the axle and instead of gettin the whole car off the ground just put the axle up enough to get the wheel off

Just got done painting calipers and put wheels back on and I noticed that I have a larger wheel gap even though I am lowered. Do the springs need to settle again? Compress?
Thanks

No, I am tired, but I'm sure there was a tight 3 finger gap all around and now I can get 3 fingers in easily. OOOOOOOOh, that didn't sound good, did it? Anyway, it was a tight 3 fingers in the front. I think where the weight was off the springs for about 3 hours, they need to settle again with the weight of the car.

DO NOT try to lift the car close to the jack point and place jack stand, your frame will bend.
Jack stands go where u jack up the car for tire replacement, lift the car with a lift in the front where there is a squarish protrusion from the cross bar under the engine after lifting put in the jacks, then lower the lift. If you want to be safer after lowering the car onto jacks lift the lift back to the point it lifts the car just a lil bit.

In the time it took you to type that, you could have given him the correct answer.

Sorry to hi-jack, The front jack point is easy to spot (big bulge) but where are we suposed to jack the back from? I've always just put a bit of wood under the rear beam and jacked that up.

Hey this is good info.. someone wanna post some picks for jack spots under the car...
(not on the side)

I knew you could use a hydraulic to lift the whole front or rear end but was always nervous about where to place the jack... Others can crack jokes all they like but if someone put up a pic of these spots It would be greatly appreciated.

Ditto here, when i look where I can put the jackstands theres that sill that runs the length of the car.. the top of my jackstands will crush that

I reckon we need either the adapters or blocks of wood with a groove. My stands have the same top as the ones pictured.

yup, that diagram provided by killervq30de should be all you need. i've used all those jack points before and those are the only ones you should use.

I have had mine well over a year with no probs and I drive a TON. If you do it properly it shouldn't need to be redone.
