Is it possible to twin turbo a VQ30DE? If so how much horsepower gain would it be? Everyone says "Use the search function" Well if it wasn't disabled....... Thanks in advance!

A single turbo already puts out enough to humiliate most cars on the road. Ask Neal, there's a video of him taking down a Z06 Corvette on the highway.

hahah awesome, ill turbo mine when i got the resources for it. In a 4th gen with a 3.5 is there still room to turbo??? i dont know if the VQ3.5 takes up any more space.

SHould be enough space, that would be a monster, and getting traction would be an issue.

The 3.5 is the same size as the VQ30 and 35 lbs lighter. I think the 3.5 with headers is already fast enough as it is, turbo would be

Yes it's possible.
No it's not practical or worth the time and money unless YOU have very extensive knowledge and craftmenship and you do it yourself.

Anything's possible. How deep your pockets are is the next question you should ask. A single turbo is more than plenty. MardiGrasMax is building a 3.5 and will turbo it; he's shooting for 10s.

Jeez. 2 turbos are not any better than 1. Most cars that come with two turbos stock convert to one larger one. Go ahead and twin turbo it and then realize you just wasted about $10,000 and then convert it to single turbo like you should have done in the first place.

Simply out of curiosity, how much would it cost to put one turbo in a 4th gen, including all accessories needed for stability assuming you install it all yourself?

around $3K

More like 5k unless you get everything used...

The real question is not what the performace will be with twin turbos...but what the maintenance will be. If you blow $10,000 on a 3.5 swap and turbocharging of the engine, you run into serious maintenance problems if the turbo fails.....lots of 3000 GT and Supra owners can attest to this.

If you pull it off, props to ya. I just hope your forearms are prepared for gruesome tourque steer!

Not that you can or will, but you should not even THINK about going boosted if you do not know these basic facts. Driving a car with a custom turbo setup is going to require some wrenching ability if not at least knowing what you have done to your car.

I know of 2-3 VQ30DETT's.

A single turbo at 9psi will give you more than what your car can provide traction-wise. Twin-turboing is pointless and as some have mentioned, not possible because of room.
