Still Reading Ks Code!!!!!

Hey everyone, I changed out my knock sensor over a week ago and the code is still on. I've been driving it everyday and I need to get it inspected. Is there something I'm not doing right? All I did was pull the old one out and put the new one in it's place. Should I disconnect the battery or anything of that sort? Thanks for the help.

Ok, I'm still doing something wrong here. Is resetting the ECU the same thing as resetting the check engine light? I've tried to reset the code with a screw driver a hundred times and when I check the code keeps coming up. Does anyone have any suggestions? I really need to get the car inspected. Thanks for the help.

Yes. Here's the idiotproof method: disconnect the battery for five minutes.

You might not be resetting the ECU correctly - and Yes it is the same as resetting the CEL.

Double check that you actually reconnected the sub-harness (if you ever disconnected it). You should also clean the two ground bolts on the front of the plenum (10mm I believe). With the sub-harness disconnected, you should be able to measure 550kohms on your new sensor (between one of the pins in the harness and an engine ground).

You can always get a friends OBDII autoscanner and erase the codes very easily.
