wrong tire size?

i need new tires pretty badly and today happens to be the only chance i'll be able to get off work early for a while. i wanted to get the kumho asx's but the only size i can find similar to mine in stock is 215/50r16. i have the stock SE 16's and i'm not sure if thats going to throw off my speedo or have ill effects later on. anyone have any quick thoughts? thanks

they will work but they are like shorter or w/e than the 215/55/16 so idk it might make ur car look like it sits higher since they are smaller tires

It WILL throw off your speedo.

That will throw your speedo off by about 3.5%. In other words your speedo will read about 2 mph faster than you are actually going @55mph.

Your fender gap will look a little bigger and feel bumps a little more, besides speedometer won't be accurate; try to find the right size 215/55/16; I think a few more days in Summer weather won't be too bad. Did you check Costco or Sams? they do not have a huge selection and prices are about the same but you only pay around $10 for mounting and balance each and can rotate and balance for free/included every 7500 miles (that's where you will get the savings) as per will have to pay anywhere else around $10 each tire for rotation and balance.
