put it in gear and either put the wheels on the ground or apply the brakes...

to be honest, they are really good ideas and i dont know why i didnt think of them. however, i was wondering, how would the brake/wheels on the ground keep the crankshaft pulley from turning in the tightening direction?

either way, i got it tightened down good with a chain wrench and a piece of the old belt for grip.

thanks guys.
