You base buying cars off of whether or not your sub will fit in it?

imagine he has this box custom made, had it made for a while and wants a maxima. what if he just wants to know if he should sell the box or if he can use it before he buys the car? free bump, pardon the useless comments we frequently get here..

by the way not sure if this is true but i heard the dimensions of our trunk our an ideal box for 2 12s.... a system with 2 12s in it tuned properly will sound better and hit harder than a system with 2 18s tuned properly....i remember this from when i asked about 2 15s....

Thats impossible, the 18's have way more cone area than the 2 12's, either way, i havent build my box yet. I just want to know before i buy the car if i can get the xxx18, can some one do me the favor of measuring their trunk for me please?

BTW, i come from caraudio.com dont be rude guys

yes, you will be able to fit 18's, but it will probably sound like crap since there will probably be no room for the subs to hit in the box since the box will probably be small.i know that 15's get a lil distorted. A well tuned system with 3 10's can probably blow away a system with 2 18's. IMO, 2 18's will probably sound like crap

Im not going to run 2 18's, i will be running one, but its not a matter of a box, the XXX18 will do perfect with a 7.4cuft @ 35hz, it would be around the 145db mark and thats good for a single sub setup, an i know i will be louder than all of the 3 10's setup. I just need to know about the trunk dimensions, i dont need any recommendations for wich subs to run, i got that covered, dont worry. Just get me the trunk dimensions!! lol

i say if you have a fitment probalem..you can always tilt the sub..take out the spare tire ..that was there is space for the magnet...then build an enclosure..and tilt it so that there is enough space for everything to fit

No, you're not going to get 7 cubic feet of airspace in a maxima trunk. I'm an installer, just leave it at that!

it was done in a altima, but not 7.5cuft.. they got 10cuft after displacement, so i dont see why it shouldnt fit in the maximas.

the height for the box on my 12 barely fit, I could only imagine an 18. What year altima was it because the new one's have gigantic trunks since they are so high up in the rear. Our are very small especially since the bar for the trunk gets in the way

I don't understand why you want dimensions for the trunk...what good will it do you? You'll never be able to build a box that big and get it to fit inside the trunk. So you are left with building it inside the trunk. So just figure it out when you get the car.........lazy *** people! ;-)

So i can calculate my box plans... duh. And my friend measured his 99 trunk.

depth - 50"
height - 19"
height under torsion bar - 18"
height under white box - 16"
width - 40"
furthest widht near trunk opening - 52"

So i belive i can fit the 18 in the perfectly, i dont know what is the "white box" and i was wandering if i can take out the torsion bar and use a hood strut... i hear ppl were doing that.

Theres 2 torsion bars in the car right under where the speakers are, so you will have to deal with that, along with the trunk isn't leveled, its smaller in the back and slowly gets bigger. I have a 15 in my trunk...I saw someone else have a 15 xxx just with a huge box, i think he built it inside his trunk. My box dims were 38w 16h 12d
