I would like to setup the lighting in my car so that when the doors are opened, the light is considerably bright than when closed. When the doors shut, I would like the lights to dim so they are low and their presence is there.

Has anyone ever done this type of setup? I am thinking about using cathodes to accomplish this. However, if anyone has any input on this, I would highly appreciate it. I am particularly interested in what kinds of lighting was used: led, cathodes, neons(eek) and also the placement of these specific to a 98 model.

im almost 100% sure that will get real annoying no matter how dim you have the lights, the idea is whe ure driving at night to having nothing distract you from seeing outside those windows....to me it just doesnt feel right with even a tiny bit of light, but i wish u luvk my friend...is there car that does this stock that ure getting the idea from?

its not bad, my buddies e55 has ambient lighting but it has a dome light and lights underneath the front seats that stay on dimly. looks real nice.

i remember my buddy's 91 legend had ambient lighting under the dash and seats. never got annoying.

thats a nice area to have em, im thnking he means dome light....i have the riced out blue underdash neons everyone else does so those are my ambient lights,
