Some ECU Trouble codes recently

Hello all, not to sure whats going on exactly but ill describe it my best.

Recently i have been pulling my hair out with the ECU code 0302 - EGR Hi/Low flow. Ive taken it and gotten the valve replaced, nothign works, i have had a friend look at it, and he showed me how there was a hose not connected to anyhting and a loose nut that was over a line coming from somewhere(i know im not being very descriptive, i didnt have my head in the car to see what he was doing and am going off what he said). So he titghtend and cut new hose and connected hose to where it should have been, then i reset my ECU, and all was well for 3 days. Then light came back on and i was like damnit. So i drive around some more before checking it convinced that it is just the damn EGR again, and just today, before i went to drop my car off with my buddy, i check the code ag ain, and was thouroughly shocked. Im now pulling 3 codes listed as
01 11 - EVAP control system/flow
03 02 - EGR Hi/Low Flow
08 07 - EVAP Canister Purge Control Valve/ Soleniod Valve Circuit
I immeadiately let out a turd in my briches becuase i was not expecting any of that shy of the EGR. So i reset the ECU and write dow nthe codes so i can look them up, and now heres the dilemma. Once i reset it, the codes didnt come back up (...uh, duh...)and the reason that puzzles me is that normally when i reset the codes, it comes back right away once i turn my car on drive around, turn off, and then back on again, it is back on. It hastn done that. So, any recommendations? Im still thinking about giving the guy my car for Friday so he can see whats doable on it, hes certifide and all, so id rather pay him then a dealership.

Sorry about the long thread that boiled down to 2 or 3 good sentences. Any pointers would be appreciated.

Travis

Interested in any suggestions as well.

Been having the 0302 come up after a Y-pipe Install.

well im not going to go as far as to try and solve my own problem, but i am going to post what i have been told but forgot to write in the original thread. Ive been told after a signifigant time, there coems a time in every car's life where there will be carbon build up from the exhaust, it is only natural, and it neds to be cleaned out. I believe that i ahve passed the point of a young car, (i have 230,000 on my Max today actually) and i do believe that there is gunk all up in that piece, but where the gunk is, that is the question. I cleaned the TB (dont even start, it needed to be cleaned, i know that wouldnt fix the EGR code) and apparently it hadnt been cleaned in a while ( my dad didnt take very good care of this vehicle so im trying to play catchup now). Just posting this for the sake if anyone is trying to assess how much help i need. Or not, lol.

Travibe - you are on the right path.

You need to pull off the plenum and clean out the EGR guide tube that connects to the rear of the plenum and the actual EGR port on the plenum (that the tube connects to). There is a thread on the 1st page of the 4th Gen forums about cleaing out the EGR ports.

Pulling the plenum is not trivial if you're not handy - so it's up to you whether to take that on yourself or have your mechanic do it. Once the plenum is off, the tube and port that I am talking abuot will be obvious. They are both located behindt he TB/IACV valves.
